What is a Veterinary Hospital?
A veterinary hospital is a veterinary practice with a great deal more.
Veterinary Hospitals (but not Animal Hospitals) are the only practices which are independently inspected to ensure they exceed the stringent requirements set out by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons - the veterinary governing body. Veterinary Hospitals also meet the standards for small animal veterinary practices as determined by the B.S.A.V.A.
Veterinary hospital status is your guarantee that we meet the very highest standard of veterinary premises in the U.K.
These standards cover a diverse range of areas; from the hygiene of the reception area, to nursing staff always being on the premises, monitoring and caring for hospitalized patients, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year; from providing an isolation ward, to the monitoring of anaesetised patients.
Normal veterinary surgeries are under no obligation to provide any of these extensive facilities.
The distinction is akin to the difference between a GP's practice and a hospital. We can cater for every apect of your pet's health, from something relatively simple like vaccinations, to a major procedure, like removal of kidney stones, and the requisite post op care.
We are firm believers in the 'prevention is better than cure ethos', that's why we have a range of clubs and services designed to keep your pet at the peak of fitness. Our ever popular puupies parties are designed to help your puppy socialise, and thus prevent behavioural problems in later life. At every stage of your pet's life, we provide the best advice and medical care. This empathetic approach extend to post mortem counselling, for those owners, who have had to make difficult decisions about their pet's future. We've only scratched the surface of the range of services we provide...for a fuller picture visit our website using the link above, or contact one of our team on 01592-641333.
